Who it is for
Who this course is for
These four groups describe the people already on this course. If none of them quite fits you, that is fine — the consultation is there to say which course does.
Working somewhere English is used
You can read the documents but hesitate to speak up in meetings or answer a call.
Fine on short answers, stuck on long ones
You manage one turn and then run out, so the conversation stops after a few exchanges.
Dealing with overseas clients
You need to be clear and courteous in situations that carry real professional weight.
Preparing for an interview in English
You need to tell your own story coherently, not just answer with correct grammar.
Outcomes
What you come away with
Not the syllabus listed a second time, but what is left once the course has finished.

Conversations that do not die after three lines
Linking ideas, asking questions back and widening a topic become habits, so a turn does not fall into silence.
English for work, not only for daily life
Meetings, short presentations, phone calls and work messages — the four situations that come up most.
You handle what is not in the script
When a word escapes you, when you did not catch something, when you have to refuse or disagree — the places memorised phrases do not save you.
The right level of politeness
Saying the same thing to a colleague and to a client are two different things; the difference is made explicit.
Syllabus
What you study
Everything the course covers, grouped. The order and the weight of each part are adjusted after each student's entry test.
Keeping a conversation going
- Linking ideas, asking questions back and widening a topic
- Asking someone to repeat, and rephrasing your own point
- Telling a story with a beginning and an end
English at work
- Speaking up and asking questions in a meeting
- A short presentation on what you do
- Phone calls and written work messages
Register and politeness
- Requesting, refusing and disagreeing while keeping the relationship
- The difference between talking to a colleague and to a client
- Phrases that sound blunter to a native speaker than you intend
Listening and reflexes at real speed
- Conversations with several speakers and different accents
- Catching the main point when you cannot catch every word
- Conversation practice with a teacher or a foreign speaker
How we teach
The six steps behind every Wobridge course
These six steps apply to every course we run, on every programme. What changes from course to course is how much weight each step carries — noted directly under the list.
Entry assessment
A test across all four skills before placement, so we know where a student stands and what is missing.
Learning path
The target broken into stages with checkpoints, rather than a single number waiting at the end of the course.
Practice
Every lesson includes work done in class; theory never occupies a lesson on its own.
Feedback
Writing and speaking marked against the assessment criteria of the exam being prepared, with each fault attached to a named criterion.
Progress tracking
Results are recorded skill by skill through the course, so it is visible which part is moving and which is not.
Mock test
A paper sat in the real format and to the real timings, then talked through afterwards.
