Entry

Entry requirements

These are the common thresholds for most programmes. Individual universities and departments may ask for more — the authoritative list is on the admissions page of the institution you are targeting.

  • Academic record

Vietnamese students usually complete a foundation year or A-Levels before year one, because the two school systems differ by a year.

  • English

IELTS 6.5 for most undergraduate programmes, 6.0 for foundation. Foundation programmes require IELTS for UKVI rather than the standard Academic test.

  • Finances

Proof of first-year tuition plus living costs at the level UKVI publishes, held in the account for 28 consecutive days.

  • Health surcharge

The Immigration Health Surcharge is paid per year of visa length, at the same time as the visa application.

Language preparation

Language roadmap

Accepted thresholds

  • IELTS 6.5 · Bản UKVI cho chương trình dự bị; bản Academic thường đủ cho bậc cử nhân
  • TOEFL 88 · iBT

The common threshold is IELTS 6.5. One detail to watch: foundation programmes require IELTS for UKVI, sat at a designated centre — same content as Academic, different report form.

  1. Foundation

Academic vocabulary and core grammar, plus familiarity with all four skills. Target 5.5.

  2. Build-up

Intensive Writing and Reading — the heaviest skills at foundation and undergraduate level. Target 6.0.

  3. Final push

Scheduled mock tests, and choosing the right test version (UKVI or Academic) for the programme you are applying to. Target 6.5.

Services

Support packages

The centre handles the application work and the language preparation. Choosing the institution and the field of study stays with you.

The centre prepares and reviews applications, runs interview practice and teaches the language. Visa decisions rest with the immigration authority of the destination country and scholarship decisions rest with the awarding body — no one outside those two can guarantee an outcome.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • How is IELTS UKVI different?

The content and scoring are identical; it is sat at a UKVI-approved centre and the report form is marked accordingly. Foundation programmes require UKVI, while most undergraduate courses accept standard Academic.

  • Why do Vietnamese students need a foundation year?

UK schooling runs thirteen years, Vietnam's twelve. A foundation year or A-Levels bridges that gap. Some universities admit directly to year one if you hold A-Level or IB results.

  • What does the 28-day rule mean?

The funds shown must sit in the account for at least 28 consecutive days, and the closing statement must be dated no more than 31 days before you apply. Withdrawing mid-period invalidates the evidence.

  • Do you guarantee the visa?

No. UKVI decides. We help you prepare financial evidence that satisfies the 28-day rule and review every document before submission.
