Entry

Entry requirements

These are the common thresholds for most programmes. Individual universities and departments may ask for more — the authoritative list is on the admissions page of the institution you are targeting.

  • Academic record

Vietnamese students usually take a foundation year, or enter year one directly after a year of university at home.

  • English

IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5 for bachelor's programmes. Master's programmes require 6.5.

  • Finances

Proof of first-year tuition plus roughly 20,000 NZD of living costs, the figure published by Immigration New Zealand.

  • Health and character

A medical examination at an approved clinic, and a police certificate if your course runs longer than two years.

Language preparation

Language roadmap

Accepted thresholds

  • IELTS 6.0 · Không kỹ năng nào dưới 5.5 cho bậc cử nhân
  • TOEFL 80 · iBT

A 6.0 overall with a 5.5 floor is the most reachable threshold of the seven. From an intermediate start, six to nine months is usually enough.

  1. Foundation

Core grammar and academic vocabulary, plus familiarity with the test format. Target 5.0.

  2. Build-up

Even work across the four skills, lifting the weakest above the 5.5 floor. Target an even 5.5.

  3. Final push

Mock tests and feedback to push the overall to 6.0 while holding the floor. Master's candidates carry on one more stage to 6.5.

Services

Support packages

The centre handles the application work and the language preparation. Choosing the institution and the field of study stays with you.

The centre prepares and reviews applications, runs interview practice and teaches the language. Visa decisions rest with the immigration authority of the destination country and scholarship decisions rest with the awarding body — no one outside those two can guarantee an outcome.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Is IELTS 6.0 genuinely enough?

It is for most undergraduate programmes, provided no band falls below 5.5. Master's programmes and fields such as nursing or teaching ask for more.

  • How do polytechnics differ from universities?

Polytechnics are practical and vocational, with shorter and cheaper programmes, and many still qualify for the post-study work visa.

  • How do costs compare with Australia?

Tuition usually runs slightly below Australia; living costs in Auckland are comparable to Melbourne, while other cities are cheaper.

  • Do you guarantee the visa?

No. Immigration New Zealand decides. We help you assemble a complete file and submit it on time.
