Who it is for
Who this course is for
These four groups describe the people already on this course. If none of them quite fits you, that is fine — the consultation is there to say which course does.
Plenty of grammar, no speech
You can do the exercises on paper but freeze when you have to answer a simple question out loud.
Worried about pronunciation
You know the word but are not sure how to say it, so silence feels safer.
Travelling or going abroad for work
You need enough English to ask directions, book a room, order food and deal with whatever comes up.
Not yet committed to any exam
You want to speak first and think about certificates later — and this base carries over to any exam you choose.
Outcomes
What you come away with
Not the syllabus listed a second time, but what is left once the course has finished.

People understand you first time
Work on final consonants, word stress and sentence intonation — the three things that decide whether you are understood.
Whole sentences instead of single words
The most-used sentence patterns are practised until they come without thinking, so the conversation does not break off.
You follow native speakers at normal speed
Listening practice uses real everyday conversation, including the linking and elision that textbooks leave out.
Enough confidence to speak first
Every lesson includes paired speaking and speaking to a small group, so opening your mouth becomes routine rather than an event.
Syllabus
What you study
Everything the course covers, grouped. The order and the weight of each part are adjusted after each student's entry test.
Pronunciation
- The phonemic chart, final consonants and the pairs Vietnamese speakers most often confuse
- Word stress and sentence stress
- Intonation, rhythm and natural linking
Everyday sentence patterns
- Greetings, introducing yourself and starting a conversation
- Asking and giving directions, asking the time, asking the price
- How to say it again when you are not understood, instead of abandoning the sentence
Everyday situations
- Eating out, shopping and making a booking
- Getting around: airports, hotels, public transport
- Phone calls and short messages in English
Listening and reflexes
- Everyday conversation at normal speed
- Guessing meaning from context instead of stopping to look words up
- Conversation practice with a teacher or a foreign speaker
How we teach
The six steps behind every Wobridge course
These six steps apply to every course we run, on every programme. What changes from course to course is how much weight each step carries — noted directly under the list.
Entry assessment
A test across all four skills before placement, so we know where a student stands and what is missing.
Learning path
The target broken into stages with checkpoints, rather than a single number waiting at the end of the course.
Practice
Every lesson includes work done in class; theory never occupies a lesson on its own.
Feedback
Writing and speaking marked against the assessment criteria of the exam being prepared, with each fault attached to a named criterion.
Progress tracking
Results are recorded skill by skill through the course, so it is visible which part is moving and which is not.
Mock test
A paper sat in the real format and to the real timings, then talked through afterwards.
