Who it is for

Who this course is for

These four groups describe the people already on this course. If none of them quite fits you, that is fine — the consultation is there to say which course does.

Outcomes

What you come away with

Not the syllabus listed a second time, but what is left once the course has finished.

A Wobridge teacher going through English maths terminology with an SAT Foundation class
Maths terminology in English is taught as a section of its own, because it is the most common bottleneck.
  • You know how the digital paper works

Two sections, Reading & Writing and Math, each in two modules — and the second module's difficulty depends on how the first went.

  • You read maths questions in English without stopping

Algebra, geometry and statistics terms are learnt in English, so there is no translation step left in the exam room.

  • The grammar behind Standard English Conventions

Punctuation, agreement and sentence structure — the group with clear right answers, and so the surest marks to win.

  • You are comfortable with the testing app

Working on screen, using the built-in Desmos calculator and the flag tool — what costs time on a first attempt through unfamiliarity.

Syllabus

What you study

Everything the course covers, grouped. The order and the weight of each part are adjusted after each student's entry test.

How we teach

The six steps behind every Wobridge course

These six steps apply to every course we run, on every programme. What changes from course to course is how much weight each step carries — noted directly under the list.

  1. Entry assessment

A test across all four skills before placement, so we know where a student stands and what is missing.

  2. Learning path

The target broken into stages with checkpoints, rather than a single number waiting at the end of the course.

  3. Practice

Every lesson includes work done in class; theory never occupies a lesson on its own.

  4. Feedback

Writing and speaking marked against the assessment criteria of the exam being prepared, with each fault attached to a named criterion.

  5. Progress tracking

Results are recorded skill by skill through the course, so it is visible which part is moving and which is not.

  6. Mock test

A paper sat in the real format and to the real timings, then talked through afterwards.

On this course. On SAT Foundation the entry test measures the two sections SEPARATELY: a student may need to rebuild their English while already being solid at maths, and the weighting of the lessons follows that gap rather than splitting evenly.
