Overview
VSTEP Writing has two very different tasks, and learners usually write both in the same voice. Task 1 is a letter or email with a specific RECIPIENT — the same content addressed to your manager and to a friend are two different answers, and register sits inside the marking criteria. Task 2 is an opinion essay and needs an outline and an argument. The course follows the four criteria and makes each one concrete with model answers at two different levels, so you can see where the gap between them actually lies — usually not in difficult vocabulary but in answering everything the prompt asked.
