Overview

What this course is

Pronunciation is the one place in English where a small error makes the listener hear an entirely different word, and Vietnamese learners tend to slip on a very specific group of sounds — final consonants, /θ/ and /ð/, and the long–short vowel distinction. This course goes straight at that group instead of giving all 44 sounds equal time. The second half matters just as much: WORD STRESS. A word with the right sounds but the wrong stress still fails to register with the listener, and since Vietnamese has no equivalent, stress has to be learned rather than picked up.
